What’s new in town?
Cornhill Community Arts Space
We are delighted to announce that we have received a total of £9670 from ACVO and Volunteer Aberdeen to kickstart a community art space in the annexe of Cornhill Primary School.
We are working in partnership with a group of Gray's School of Art students from Robert Gordon University to provide a space for the community to come together and be creative.
If you would like to be involved or kept up to date with any developments regarding the community art space, make sure to like our Facebook page or email us at cornhillcommunityartspace@gmail.com
The art space will be officially opened in the new school term and we will be delivering both open creative sessions and planned workshops for people to come and be creative!
Cornhill Community Garden
Because you voted for us in the Just Transition Participatory Budgeting Fund, Cornhill Community Association have been awarded over £16,000 to develop the first community garden in our area. Our hope is to transform the area into a beautiful space for the whole community.
If you would like to get involved in the development of the garden we are currently meeting on a Wednesday evening at 6pm. Come along and get involved! You can help us with the design of the garden, building furniture, painting, planting, and so much more!
If you require any further information, please email cornhillcommunitycentre@gmail.com
Rosehill/Stockethill Community Council
For the first time in the history of our area, we now have a community council!
Our Community Council boundaries cover Rosehill, Stockethill, Cornhill, Ashgrove, and Kittybrewster.
We meet in Cairncry Community Centre every 3rd Thursday of the month at 18.30. Currently, we’re discussing the plans for knocking down the Rosehill Day Centre and building a Drive-Thru McDonald’s, establishing a Community Resilience Group, and the state of our pavements.
Local residents are welcome to come by and join in our meetings.
If there’s anything you’d like to contact use about, you can reach us by emailing rscomcouncil@gmail.com
